Abstract
A total of 46 water samples were collected from pouLtry farms located in Alexandria Province and examined chemically and bacteriologically to evaluate their sanitary quality.
A- The cnemica anaisis ot water samples revealed the following results:
1- The ph value of tap water sources was ranged from 7 to 7.5 with a mean value 7.04 ± 0.003, While in water samples of reservoir tanks and drinkers was ranged from 7 to 7.5 with a mean value 7o6 ± 0.03 and from 7 to 7.5 with a mean value 7.04 ± 0.021 respectively, the over all mean was 7.05 ± 0.01 .ln addition ground water sources was ranged from 7 to 7.5 with a mean value 7.35 ± 0.08, while ph of drinkers derived from such water was ranged from 7 to 7.5 with a mean value 7.35 ± 0.076, the over all mean was 7.35 ± 0.05.
2- The concentration of ammonia in tap water sources was ranged from 0 to 0.87 with a mean value 0.33 ± 0.01 but in reservoir tanks and drinkers was ranged from 0 to 0.98 with a mean value 0.72 ± 0.5 mg/I and from 0.42 to 3.5 with a mean 2.9 ± 0.52 mg/I respectively. The over all mean was 2.1 ± 2.33 mg/I. And the examination of ground water supply revealed that , ammonia content was ranged from 0.05 to 2.02 with a mean value 0.79 ± 0.1 mg/ I while in drinkers of such water was ranged from 0.5 to 6.9 with a mean value 3.86 1 1.34 mg/I , the over all mean was 3.01 ± 0.41 mgi I.
3- The nitrate content of tap water sources, Reservoir tranks and dnnkers was ranged from 0 to 18.2 with a mean 4.21 ± 1.11 , 0 to 20.62 with a mean value 5.6± 2.34 and from 2.3 to 28.42 with a mean
