Abstract
Of Cattle Brucellosis In Some Goverenorates Of Egypt)
This investigation is concerned with the prevalence of Brucella infection
- cattle in some governorates under investigation (El-Menofeia, El-Kalyobia EL Sharkia, Port Said , Suez ,lsmailia, Cairo ,Giza, EL Fayoum ,Beni El-Minia, Assiut, Suhag ,Qena, Aswan LE1-Behera, Kafr El-Shiekh, Dammieta lexandria). Samples were collected from different localities in these governorates under 9 during the period from January 2001 to Jun 2003
Sera from these cattle are examined for brucellosis by different serological tests g Buffered Acidified Plate Antigen Test (BAPAT), Rose Bengal Plate Test Tube Agglutination test (TAT), Complement Fixation Test (CFT) and PCR ‘D3uIts showed in Table (52) that:
The percentage of brucellosis is high in some governorates such as Behera Beni Suef (6.28%), lsmailia( 5.00%), Qena (4.18%), Menofyia (4 %), .Said (3.89%), Suhag (3.4%), El-Kalubyia (3.2%) governorates
The percentage of brucellosis is moderate in some governorates such as, (2.96%), Assiut (2.92%), kafer El-Sheikh (2.82%), El- Minia (2.80 %), (2.77%), Dammieta (2.72%), E1-Sharquia (2.6 %), El-Fyume (1.32 %)

percentage of brucellosis is moderately low in some governorates such as, Giza (0.82 %), Suez 0.60%, Alexandria. (0.50%.) governorates
..AT, among all the tests used in the study, gave the highest rate of positive samples followed by RBPT ,CFT and SAT.
...aring the results of the different tests it seems advisable to use the ed acidified plate antigen test (BAPAT) as a presumptive test due to Icr sensitivity, easy to be done and to exclude negative cases. The of Rose Bengal Plate test (RBPT) as a screening test due to its higher ..tivity to confirm doubtful cases of Tube
Agglutination test.
