Abstract
Industrial polymers have increasing importance in the industrial societies. They became one of the most vital elements in our daily life. So, different types of information concerning these polymers- mechanical, electrical, thermal, optical, environmental, and chemical properties, also, trade names, chemical structure, manufacture, marketing, suppliers, costs, and all applications - are needed for both research work and industry. Obtaining these information consumes time, money, and effort, and the source of data may not be available. Therefore, it became very important to build up an industrial polymer data-base to provide the user with the required information, and help him for decision making to solve his problems.
The important data of industrial polymers-thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers, and composites -have been collected, arranged and stored in four files; one as a main file and the other three as subfiles. The main file contains all the industrial polymers properties, and the first subfile contains definitions, and test for each property in the main file. The second subfile contains the costs and applications for each polymer in the main file. The third subfile contains the suppliers for each polymer, and their addresses either in Egypt or other foreign countries.
