Abstract

Lithium-Zinc-Ferrite (Li-Zn-Fe) has received much interest due to its interesting physical properties, high Curie point, high resistivity, low dielectric loss and low cost. The multiple technological applications of the lithium ferrite attracts many researchers, specifically physicists are very interested in ferrite due to its ideal inverse spinel structures
In this work, I investigated the structural, magnetic, dielectric, electrical, and thermal properties of Li-Zn-Ferrite system. The experimental work is consisting of three sections; in the first section, I studied the effect of adding Zinc on the properties of Li0.5-0.5xZnxLa0.04Fe2.46-0.5xO4 with Zn-content 0.1 ≤ x ≤ 0.9 in order to reach a critical concentration of zinc. X- Ray analysis and Seebeck coefficient measurement were carried out in order to assure the formation of the sample in single spinel phase and to know the type of charge carriers participating in the conduction mechanism. The dependence of the electrical resistivety of Li-Zn ferrite on Zn-content and temperatures is explained on the basis of the cation distribution. The transition from the ferromagnetic to paramagnetic state is accompanied by an increase in the thermo EMF. Li- Zn ferrite shows n and p- types conductivity due to the presence of Fe2+ ions. The creation of lattice vacancies is due to presence of Li ions which give rise of p- type conductivity.
