Abstract In recent years, researches have been developed to make use of permanent magnet synchronous motor. PMSM has a hizher efficiency, small size .• ne.gligible rotor losses, and high torque to inertia ratio. This thesis is mainly aimed at introducing an overview of the vector control of permanent m1!8net synchronous motor. The nonlinear modeliqg of thepennanent magnet synchronous motor is presented in this thesis, first without cage winding then with cage windiQg. The current controllers used were overviewed and a comparison between hysteresis current controller and ramp comparator current controller is held. Different vector control techniQues, such as constant direct-axis current and maximum torque per Ampere techniques, using different current controllers, such as hysteresis controller and ramp cOl11Parator, were overviewed. A comparison is made between the different techniques of vector controlled PMSM. Simulation results were obtained under different speed commands Vector control of PMSM using sliding mode controller was presented. The simulation results were obtained for constant direct axis current technique usiQg hysteresis current controller under different speed commands. A quantit~tive design of PI-D second d~ree of freedom controller with model following response in order to satisfY certain constraints is presented. This design is used for v.ector controlled PMSM usiQg constant direct axis current with hysteresis current controller. |
