Abstract In the present study 144 adult albino rats were divided into: control group, three estrogen treated groups (with different doses) and orchidectomy group, for each group examination under light microscope, electron microscope as well as immunohistology for estrogen receptors was done. The examination revealed a direct effect of estrogen on the prostate mainly in form of hyperplasia, inflammatory infiltration and dysplasia. It also revealed the presence of estrogen receptors in prostate. |
