Abstract
The present study entails a retrospective and prospective studies for the problem of sexual assault .The retrospective study : includes all victims of sexual assault referred for medicolegal examination during a five year period (1984-1988). They were studied as regards type of sexual assault, scene or location of the assault, characteristics of victims and findings on medicolegal examination .The study revealed that the total number of victims of sexual assault during the last five years were 621 victims, with an average of 124 victims yearly.
