Abstract
Caesarean section was perfomed on 35 Egyptian goats ranging in age from 20 — 50 months.
t1f!erent types o± general anaesthesia as
well as local anaesthetic together with tranquilizers were used.
Caesareatomy was perfomec3. at 5 different seats:
— Left flank.
— Right flank.
— Paramedian incision lateral to the milk vein.
— Paramedian incision medial to the milk vein.
— Midline incision ( linea alba).
Different types of suture material were tried viz:
— Plain catgut — Cliromic catgut — Mersilene Prolene — Ethilon — Silk — Nylon.
Hiatopathological samples were taken from the healed uterine incision after three weeks to evaluate the healing process.
