Abstract
Steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome is a chronic, progressive disorder affecting up to 10% of all children with nephrotic syndrome. It causes morbidity & mortality due to persistent edema, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, thrombosis and infection (Banerjee, 2002). A short-term treatment with cytotoxic agents often is ineffective, but an aggressive and prolonged treatment with cytotoxic agents combined with corticosteroids proved to be effective in more than half of steroid resistant children (Ponticelli and Passerini, 2003
