Abstract This work was conducted for studying the effect of deficiency of some trace elements” Cu, S, Fe and Zn”, Mg and vitamin E on ”clinical signs, haematology and biochemical status” in diseased sheep and goats compared with the apparently healthy ones. A total number of 140 animals ”85 sheep, 40 goats, 10 lambs &5 kids” were selected from different areas of Sharkia Governorate, in addition to the cases which admitted to the clinic of faculty of veterinary Medicine, Zagazig university. Clinical examination was done on all animals with special attention to temperature, pulse, respiration rate, ruminal movement, skin elasticity, wool or hair status, state of appetite, general body condition, gait and posture. Blood samples were taken from all animals for ~matological and biochemical studies, also blood smears were taken to confirm the presence or absence of blood parasite. Skin scrapings to decide the presence or absence of external parasites were performed from the animals suffering from alopecia. Fecal examination was performed, samples from wool and ration were taken for determination of the level of trace elements and magnesium. After clinical, haematological, biochemical examination, III addition to wool analysis, the examined animals were classified according to their physiological and pathological conditions into the following groups: |
