Abstract Varicocele is a common finding in adolescents and men. Its association with male infertility has been well documented: varicoceles are reported to be present in 20 % to 40 % of infertile men (Belgrano et al, 1999). In the general population the incidence is between 15 and 18 % on physical examination (Jarow et al, 1996), 18 and 35 % on scrotal sonography and color flow Doppler imaging, respectively (Meacham et al, 1994). |
