Abstract The Egyptian shield is composed of metasedimentary, metavolcanics and associated ophiolite rock assemblages that evolved in island-arc, back-arc and oceanic settings, (Gass, 1977, Bentor, 1985, Kroner, 1985. Kroner, et al., 1987, Vail, 1987). These assemblages were episodically deformed and intruded by syn-, late-, and post-tectonic granitoid masses during the Pan-African orogeny. |
